Miners' Village, incorporated in 1983 by Powell Development, consists of 118 single family homes . Front yard maintenance, exterior painting including outside fences, and private street maintenance are included in the monthly dues.
Miners Village honors the people who did the back-breaking work of digging for gold. They came to California during the Gold Rush from all over the world in hopes of making a fortune or building a new life. While a lucky few found what they were looking for, most found nothing but endless labor, discomfort, disease, and misery. Today, the Mother Lode is dotted with the remains of the mines. They are gone, but the evidence of the hard work of the thousands of people who labored and died looking for gold remains. The mines are their monuments.
Street names in Miners Village streets are taken from Mother Lode mines and mining sites.
