Mother Lode Village, incorporated in 1993 by its developers, Westwood Homes, U.S. Homes and J & R Homes, consists of 226 single family homes. Front yard maintenance is included in the monthly dues.
The term 'Mother Lode' refers to the principal vein or an ore or mineral and most probably came from a literal translation of the Spanish veta madre, a term common in old Mexican mining. The California Mother Lode is the famous name given to a long alignment of hard-rock gold deposits stretching northwest to southeast in the Sierra Nevada. Its discovery in the early 1850s, gave rise to the California Gold Rush.
Today, Mother Lode Village is ideally situated tucked between the American River Parkway and Natomas Lake with endless opportunities for recreation. Whether one is looking for fishing, water activities, walking, biking, hiking, horseback riding or other past times, it can be found in the area.
